When I learned how to make bacon in the oven, my mind almost exploded. IT IS CLEAR! It is so clear! Why would you do it any other way?? This is the easiest, fastest and cleanest way to cook bacon. Cooking bacon on the stove is SO messy. Oils get everywhere – on counters, on the floor and on you! Skip all that by baking the bacon in the oven.
The Best Method For Making Bacon
Cooking bacon in the oven also frees up space on the stove. It’s great when you’re cooking a big breakfast and need space to put pancakes, eggs, sausage, etc. Just put it in the oven, set the timer and forget about it until you’re done cooking.
TO BAKE Place the bacon on a rimmed baking sheet – it is important that it has a rimmed edge so that the fat does not run off and ignite the oven’s heat. Lining the baking sheet with aluminum foil makes cleanup easier, but it’s up to you! Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until cooked to your liking. No need to start it! It will be cooked perfectly on both sides.
Sometimes it will take a few minutes longer or faster depending on the cut of your bacon. Cook for less with a thin slice and cook longer with a thick slice. Just watch him every few minutes towards the end.
