I had the same problem with Java 7 u51. Only after I reset Internet Explorer it works again, Java was enabled in the browser, etc.

I ran into a similar issue affecting all my browsers. After completely uninstalling all my JRE and JDK and then starting from scratch, I ran into the same problem. I am running Win 7 pro 64 bit.

But basically I added this “-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true” to my vm args (set in Java Control Panel, under Java tab / View) and it solved the problems I encountered… seems like a hack but I guess latest JRE doesn’t handle IPv6 requests well

Even though I installed the latest Java (65) via a java automatic update prompt, tried a java version verify and java failed to run, closed all IE instances, failed to run verify again, closed all running programs, failed to run verify again , rebooted, failed to run verify again, reinstalled 65 again (manually close browser while downloading), and finally verified run.
